World map

Student → grad → engineer

Three zones, one continuous save file. Kolkata to Berlin, Unity side projects to production banking infrastructure. Scroll and the cat walks it with you.

Zone 1

The campus arc

Aliah University, Kolkata · student
  • Learned to build by breaking things — C, C++, Python and JavaScript, mostly at 2am.
  • Shipped games in Unity and C#, including a Color Switch clone that taught more about state machines than any lecture.
  • Contributed to open source with FOSSASIA and sent first real pull requests into other people's codebases.
  • Started a LeetCode streak that has now outlived several laptops.

Zone 2

New game +

Deutsche Bank, Berlin · graduate trainee · from Oct 2023
  • Moved roughly 7,000 km from Kolkata to Berlin and started over in a new country, a new language and a very old codebase.
  • Traded personal projects for enterprise Java: Spring Boot, code review culture, change requests, and release trains.
  • Learned how a bank actually ships software — and how much of engineering is reading logs patiently.
  • Side quest, still active: learning German.

Main quest

Associate Software Engineer · Autobahn Analytics · since Sept 2024
  • Led a Spring Boot 2 → 3 migration on a gateway service, replacing Netflix Zuul with Spring Cloud Gateway and untangling proxy, HTTP client and metrics regressions along the way.
  • Rolled out OAuth/OIDC authentication across the team's service APIs and their docs, debugging Spring Security filter chains and Kerberos config to get there.
  • Revived a Gatling/Scala load-testing suite, migrated it from a decommissioned cluster onto OpenShift, and traced a 97% failure rate under load to a default HTTP connection-pool limit of five.
  • Built Grafana and InfluxDB dashboards for restart tracking, duplicate events and service health.
  • Worked on Kafka listeners, leader election across pods, and Oracle SQL migrations.

Next area · requirements: curiosity, one more migration
  • Still playing. Open to teams building things people actually touch — ideally where the frontend and the backend are both fair game.
